First win in motorsport: Wimbledon 1973 Hot Rod

Any other motorsport experience other than stockcars: Grasstrack Jalopy with Tongham Motor Club, Hot Rods, Stock Rods and Banger with Spedeworth. MiniRods with Promotasport, grasstrack Hot Rods and Bangers with Braintree Auto Club.

Favourite old time track: Braintree grasstrack at White House Corner, Felsted

Current favourite track: St Day tarmac and King’s Lynn shale

Other racing involvement: Mechanic for Eddie Asling Spedeworth Superstock and Hot Rod #553 and Frank Hartley Spedeworth Hot Rod #178. Committee member of Braintree Auto Club as well as marshal there. Marshal at Henham Raceway. Co-founder of the Contact Auto Racing Association – CARA (now ceased)

What you would like to see to improve our sport: More emphasis on the “Heritage” side of the sport rather than the racing side of it. Need to keep the variety of cars seen from ’60 to ’72 and to encourage the use of older cars to show the younger generation how things were at the start otherwise the perception will be to build fast, low cars to win.
