1st ever stock car meeting: 1968 Brandon, most of it spent on the shoulders of my elder brother Pete. Keep telling him that he couldn’t do it now!

How did you become interested: My brother Pete knew Arty Lewis a stock car driver from Hatton near Solihull, from this we visited Brandon to see the stock cars and the speedway, usually on a midland red bus.

First time you raced and what was it: 1982 at Brafield in a self built Brisca F2; the car was put together from an article guide made by Graham Bunter published in an end of season annual.

First win in motorsport: Still waiting, still trying!

Any other motorsport experience other than stock cars: None

Favourite old time track: Old Belle Vue F1, Newton Abbott F2

Current favourite track: Brandon (shale) Birmingham (tarmac)

All-time favourite F1 driver F2 driver: Doug Cronshaw, Robin Randall

Other racing involvement: Helped Brian Owen many years ago when a lot younger, painting wheels, fetching and carrying

Top drink / meal: Guinness/JD, a good Curry

Other interests: Junior football, coached local teams for 14 years, football, American football, most sports, Cinema and Music

Favourite musician / Band: The Jam, AC/DC, Gary Moore

Top TV / film: Life on Mars (plenty of old Fords in that) The Departed

First road car: Vauxhall Viva estate

All-time favourite holiday destination: Anywhere with Mrs H, preferably Cornwall

What you would like to see to improve our sport: More meetings with the F1 stock cars if possible, anything that will keep the negativity away from the racing, it’s for fun after all
